Task Teams

By 2015, up to 80% of eligible children will be enrolled in the Fresno County Early Care and Education program of high-quality preschool services, with enrollment priority for children in low API communities. These programs will be staffed by well-trained teachers and feature preschool pedagogy that promotes skill development. Both public and private early care and education providers will participate in a countywide Quality Rating Improvement System and the curricula will be carefully articulated and aligned with local K-3 grades to ensure children's transition to school and their academic success. Additionally, the system will address the needs of migrant and rural children, and engage parents through family literacy outreach and father participation efforts, helping to invest parents in their children's education for a lifetime.

A transition team composed of task team leaders will guide and support the overall strategy for realizing the mission of the Fresno County Voluntary Preschool Master Plan. Each task team is composed of high level community members representing public, private, and faith-based agencies across the community with an expertise in the task area.
